Ok. This is shorter than I thought. Oh well, I’m tired. Night!

Yes, as usual, I’ve gone temporarily nuts, as it is revision week.

At present, the highlight of my sad little life is to wake up, revise or do something, only to watch Eddie Izzard as means of comfort before I pass out again. I don’t even want to talk to anyone, I am holed up in my bastard room and I don’t even have any desire to chat to anyone online (except my confidante). In a way, this state of mind almost feels like depression, but I know it’ll pass. I just hate revising, and hate getting anxious. I just want to do well. It was a bit of a shock really, going to college. My GCSE’s had all been pretty good, and then my AS levels came, and I fucked up. And I nearly fucked up again for my A Levels. Turns out I didn’t though. So that was good. And I got to a good University in the end, so…

Nothing else has happened. I want to do something meaningful with my life, but don’t know what. Oh, went shopping, got a few essentials. I want some jeggings though! And…some red patent shoes.

Alas, shopping does not cure my ‘meaning of life’ query.

Bollocks to this. I’m watching Dress To Kill. Goodnight.

Also: Fucking hell, there’s something cracking the branches and twigs outside in the snow (I live near fields with bit of a wooded area. I hope to hell it’s a horse, cause I am shitting myself right now).

And finally, for those who aren’t really fans of harder dance music, here’s something from PNAU…who are electronic, granted,  but this is more of a chilled song. Very chilled. Plus it’s short too. I’m guessing it’s an album track, as most of their other stuff is pretty upbeat, but.

PNAU-Foreigner

I’m currently ”revising’ ‘ for my Cognition exam. As you can probably see, it’s going great!

(The only reason I’m posting such drivel as the following is because, for once, I’m actually in a fairly decent mood-wtf?)

At the moment, I’m actually feeling really good! My addiction to chewing gum, I realise, has decreased dramatically. I never thought this day would come when this happened, but it has. As a result of getting new clothes and makeup-I’m actually feeling great-I feel confident, and more feminine (3 years ago I was still in combats and strappy tops-don’t ask), and now I actually enjoy doing all the girly things like getting ready and going shopping, like I’m supposed to. It’s great!

Right, I’m going to stop myself now, because I just re-read that, and nearly threw up in my mouth a little. I apologise for this temporary lapse in judgement. Normal service, I can assure you, will be resumed soon.

So, these past few days…

New Year’s Eve was a lot of fun-we started off at friend 1′s house, playing Twister (which is so much harder than I remember, no kidding), moving on to house 2, playing table tennis, and trivial pursuit, before going on to house 3-where we brought in the New Year, had sparkling wine (champers to me and you) and played Band Hero. I didn’t get that drunk, but I’m really glad-it just goes to show you don’t have to be drunk to have a good time. By the time I got home (at 4am), it had begun snowing again, and I was freezing -and in heels too!

By the next morning, it had snowed heavily, so me and the folks ended up walking across the fields with the sledge. It was so much fun! And today, I have revised, and seen my big cousins-which, again, was nice. We walked down (it’s far too snowy to get the car out), but walking back was a nightmare-it was icy as hell. Still, here I am, and I’m ready to settle down and revise/watch some Eddie Izzard. Night all!

Things I have done

• Got my yellow belt in karate (although I don’t do it any more).
• Given blood
• Moved into a lovely new flat
• Done a tiny bit of DJing
• Been to London
• Visited Glasgow
• Been in a courtroom (not for me!)
• Seen Patrick Wolf twice (!!)
• Worked my ass off (and had a lot of fun doing it) during the summer.
• Having an awesome time at the May Ball, Silent Disco, and mini-Raisin!
• Going to Newtonmore with the Psychology lot!

Things I fucked up with

• Nearly getting screwed over housing-wise because I’m not aggressive enough.
• Getting so damned sad over many stupid things.
• Absolut Night.
• Not getting work experience earlier.

Things to look forward to in 2010

• NEW YORK. That’s pretty much it so far.

I’m not going to say what my resolutions are, in case I don’t fulfil them (most likely). I’m sure you’ll appreciate my reticence.

Happy New Year!

Christmas was lovely-I got some lovely things, including my ipod, Daisy perfume, and some new (much better) makeup, and I had a good day, despite getting woken up at 7am by the bro. I mean, seriously, he’s 15. I don’t get it. Either way, the atmosphere was festive, and it was good to have my grandparents over. I won’t go into detail of what I got, but I’ll say that I’m very lucky, and grateful too.

Boxing Day was good too. I tidied a little, and I managed to clear out my desk drawers. We went over to my Uncle and Aunt’s in the evening, where I got pretty drunk and played hide and seek in the dark (with my cousins), as well as  Ravin’ Rabbids and Band Hero on the Wii. I also had coffee with CREAM and TIA MARIA, which is quite possibly the greatest thing ever. Today was spent with my grandparents, having a catch-up before they go on holiday tomorrow.

These past few days have been a bit ‘meh’ to be honest.  Instead, I’m going to channel my inner rage/despondency into bringing you some music. This week, there’s a Misfits slant, seeing as though I’ve just finished the series and have found that there is now something missing in my life. These two songs are from the end of Ep3, and the end of Ep6, and I literally cannot stop listening to either of them. Enjoy!

I decided to come out of my anime-hibernation, and watch ElfenLied despite the fact I hate gore and scary bits as a rule (Shaun of the Dead scared the shit out of me, for Christ’s sake). Although it’s not scary, and the gore is a bit unexpected to start off with, I desensitised fairly quickly (pens through eyes and dismembering seems to get a bit boring after the fourth or fifth gouging). It was pretty good overall, ever more so if you like boobies.

I also went to see Avatar in 3D at the pics last Saturday. What a visual masterpiece! I would gladly sell my soul to live on Pandora. Go see the film, purely for this fact. Ok, the plot is predictable, the dialogue nothing special, but other than that, I actually really liked this film. A lot. I’ve also taken to wearing my 3D glasses around the house: as I don’t wear glasses normally, it’s very much a novelty.

Anyway, after the two and a half hours in the cinema, we walked out to find the snow’s thickness had doubled. We almost didn’t get home as the trains were delayed here, there, and bloody everywhere. We saw the 6 o’clock train arrive at 9 into the station. Anyway, to cut a long story short, at least we got home safe, even if my companion got stranded and had to stay the night.

In social news, I went out with the ‘old crowd’ the other night (i.e. non University home friends) and had a good old catch up with home-made chocolate cake and mulled cider (sounds gross, smells gross, tastes delicious!) Of course, everyone got nicely merry and we played some cracking drinking games (even if I did turn out to be ‘The one most likely to make a sex tape’(nope), ‘The one most likely to be into S&M,’ (no thanks), and ‘The one most likely to ave a sex change,’ (ridiculous). The only sucky bit was walking the last bit home by myself. In heels. In the dark. I was not impressed.

Now, onto Christmas business. I have just made whisky snaps with the bro (we ran out of brandy). Most remained welded to the baking tray, screaming ” You’ll never take us alive, bitch!!” Never mind.

Oh yeah, I managed to cut myself too with a knife, whilst trying to prise said whisky snaps from said baking tray. Lucky me.

I’ve just been wrapping presents today really. I should be getting down to some revision. Oh, I went to the Carol service, but I felt a bit of a fraud, sat there with all the happy believers (I’m agnostic). I told my folks this. My mum didn’t take it too well, which is surprising seeing as though she is the most uncatholic Catholic I know. She kept saying “You must believe in God, oh, believe in God, Katie.” In the end, I just kept my mouth shut and wrapped some more presents. I guess it is Christmas, which is a religious holiday after all.

I’m actually really glad to be home for Christmas: Although I absolutely love university, I’ve had enough for now. I am getting stuck in a rut, and I think it’s about time I started afresh in many things, including my outlook on life, work, careers, and love. But still, for now, I’m enjoying being in the last few days of 2009. I’ll probably post something year-related soon.

Oh, and yes, there has been a pole installed in my room as a ‘Welcome Home’ present from my folks.

Unfortunately, it is not of the poledancing variety, it’s for structural purposes.

Hooray.

God help me if I come in wasted, as it pretty much blocks the path to my bed.
